Image not found . Gyan Niketan which means the 'Knowledge House or the Abode of learning is a school par excellence or shall we say a school with a difference. This school was founded on Vasant Panchami in 1986 to fulfill the urgent public need of quality education of students of Bihar and that of Patna. The first principal of this school was Late Shri J.N.Dar who was the founder principal of the famous Neterhat School. This school is fortunate to have had guidance from renowned educationists and intellectuals like Prof. Askari, Shri Qyanuddin Ahmad, Shri Kapil Muni Tiwary, Shri Devendra Prasad Singh, Shri M.K.Sinha, Dr. S.P.Ghosh, Prof. Srinivasan, Shri Shailendra Dhari singh and many others. Shri Kishore Kunal has been the main guiding light in getting the school affiliated to the C.B.S.E., New Delhi and further extension of affiliation. The school at present has its own building with a huge Playground. At present it has 3000 students from classes I to XII and 74 dedicated teachers. The school also has a hostel where more than 400 students reside. Studies and co-curricular activities in the hostel are looked after by well qualified residential teachers. Besides emphasis on academic and co-curricular activities, equal importance is given to develop spiritual, cultural and social values among our students. During school assembly discourses on the Geeta, The Bible, The Quran Sharif and the Guru Granth Sahib are regularly conducted. The school has succeeded in producing students who are all-rounder's and they have fared well in life. Students of Gyan Niketan have competed in the Medical Entrance Exams and the Engineering Exams and many of them have become full-fledged doctors and engineers. Many have gone abroad and have got Management Degrees and are now working in multinational companies. We hope that there will be more Gyan Niketan students who will be able to carve out a niche for themselves in this competitive world. Development of Gyan Niketan Complex The Gyan Niketan Complex consist of 4 (four) blocks of Buildings, all inter connected.
